Udaipur, August 1 – Renowned Digambar Jain Acharya Shri Pulak Sagar Maharaj delivered a powerful and thought-provoking discourse on the 13th day of the ongoing 27-day Gyan Ganga Mahotsav at the Town Hall campus of Udaipur Municipal Corporation, as part of his Chaturmas being observed at Mahavir Digambar Jain Temple, Sarvritu Vilas.

Addressing a large congregation, Acharya Pulak Sagar said,
“The happiest person in the world is the one who lays their head on a pillow and falls into deep sleep without worry.”
He added, “Stop worrying about the future. Reflect instead. Life will flourish.”
With engaging stories and analogies, he emphasized the importance of contentment and mindfulness, stating that
“The stomach may be filled, but the hunger of the mind never ends.”
He narrated the story of Narad and a beggar’s endless desire, illustrating how even the divine Indra couldn’t fill a beggar’s bowl, which was revealed to be a human skull – a metaphor for insatiable human greed.
He encouraged the audience to eliminate negative thoughts at their root, saying:
“When bad thoughts emerge, crush them immediately.”
He advised people not to confide their inner feelings to everyone and said:
“If you must share, speak to God in the temple – at least He won’t mock you, and you will find peace.”
Pulak Sagar Maharaj concluded,
“People seek heaven in temples, but I say, heaven lies in our thinking. With the right mindset, even this world can become heaven.”
The programme began with a devotional invocation by the Saas-Bahu-Beti Dasa Mandal of Sector 4, Nar Singhpura. The event was graced by dignitaries including former Udaipur Mayor Chandrasingh Kothari, Dr. Prashant Agrawal of Narayan Seva Sansthan, Devasthan Officer Jatin Kothari, and Press Club President Kuldeep Singh Rathore.
Chaturmas Committee President Vinod Fandot, Patron Rajkumar Fattawat, and Chief Coordinator Paras Singhvi coordinated the day’s events. General Secretary Prakash Singhvi and Publicity Coordinator Viplav Jain informed that special celebrations will be held on August 9 (Raksha Bandhan) and August 15 (Independence Day).
Thousands of devotees from Udaipur, Dungarpur, Sagwara, Sabla, Banswara, Rishabhdev, Kherwara, Panund, Kun, Kheroda, Vallabhnagar, Rundeda, Dhariyawad, Bhindar, Kanod and surrounding areas were in attendance.
