
Chittorgarh, April 8: A plot to derail a train by damaging the railway track was thwarted in Chittorgarh district. Around 3:30 AM on Monday, an unidentified individual placed a piece of old iron rail on the Chittorgarh-Kota railway line near the Ori River bridge. Fortunately, the iron piece was struck by the engine of a freight train heading towards Kota, causing it to be thrown away and preventing a major disaster. Upon receiving the alert, the train driver notified the nearest station. Subsequently, railway officials, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and local police arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
Railway Tracks Remain Safe, No Disruption to Traffic
Investigations revealed that the tracks were undamaged, ensuring that rail traffic was not affected. After a brief halt, the freight train was safely dispatched.
Police Investigation Underway, Awaiting Report
Station House Officer Champaram from the Bassi police station stated that the incident was a deliberate act by an unknown individual. Currently, no report has been filed by the railway authorities at the station. Further action will be taken upon receipt of the report. The police have seized the iron piece from the site and have initiated a search for the suspects. This incident raises serious concerns regarding railway safety.
