Udaipur, 31 July — The Moksha Kalyanak Mahotsav of the 23rd Tirthankar of Jainism, Lord Parshvanath, was celebrated with grandeur and devotion in Udaipur, as part of the ongoing Chaturmas of Rashtrasant Acharya Shri Pulak Sagar Maharaj and his Sangh at Mahavir Digambar Jain Temple, Sarvritu Vilas.

On the auspicious occasion of Moksha Saptami, a magnificent religious procession was taken out from the Mahavir Jinayalaya to Town Hall. This celebration emerged as a divine example of the Jain community’s unity, devotion, and cultural expression. The grand procession deeply moved participants and revived the spiritual memory of Lord Parshvanath’s penance and liberation.

Replica of Sammed Shikhar Draws Devotees

The Chaturmas Committee created a massive replica of Sammed Shikhar at the Town Hall premises. Thousands of residents visited the installation, filling the venue with devotional chants. Acharya Pulak Sagar Maharaj, accompanied by his Sangh, led the sacred activities and guided devotees through a journey of faith and self-realisation.

First-Ever Procession Featuring Samavasaran and Chariot

Chaturmas Committee President Vinod Fandot shared that, for the first time, city residents witnessed a grand depiction of Samavasaran during the procession. Lord Parshvanath was seated in an ornately decorated chariot, accompanied by music bands and a massive gathering of devotees.

The procession included Acharya Pulak Sagar Maharaj walking with his Sangh. Hundreds of Shravaks and Shravikas, dressed as Indras and Indranis in saffron attire, participated with devotion and dance, carrying ceremonial fans (chamars). Kubera Indra, Sanat Indra, and Mahendra Indra added grandeur to the event. Eye-catching tableaux, including an Airavat elephant, showering of jewels by Lord Kubera, and the devotion of Ashta Kumarikas, enhanced the spiritual atmosphere.

The Souddharma Indra representation was led by the Sripal, Dipesh, and Pintu Kadawat families. Kubera Indra was represented by the Sunil Jain family from Ajmer, and Ishan Indra by the Sumtilal Rantiya family. The ritual of Shantidhara on the replica of Sammed Shikhar was performed by the Paras Singhvi family.

Ceremonial Worship and Devotional Offerings

A deeply devotional ritual worship of Lord Parshvanath was conducted, where Indras and Indranis offered water, sandalwood, rice, flowers, naivedya, lamps, incense, and fruits. Acharya Shri was ceremonially honoured at the replica of Sammed Shikhar by the Neelkamal Ajmera family. A 23-kilogram Nirvana Laddu was offered to Lord Parshvanath by the Gendalal Vinod Fandot family. Following the main offering, all devotees individually offered Nirvana laddus at the Sammed Shikhar installation.

Spiritual Reflections by Acharya Shri

Chaturmas Committee’s patron Rajkumar Fattawat and chief coordinator Paras Singhvi shared that Acharya Pulak Sagar Maharaj, in his discourse, emphasized that the celebration of Lord Parshvanath’s Moksha Kalyanak is not just a festival but a reminder of the ultimate goal — self-realisation and liberation (moksha). He stated that Jain festivals are not limited to rituals but are pathways to deep spiritual reflection. The Nirvana Laddu symbolically reflects the renunciation of worldly life by Lord Parshvanath.

Acharya Shri reminded devotees that Lord Parshvanath, born in Varanasi, was a preacher of the four major vows — non-violence, truth, non-stealing, and non-possession — and that Moksha Saptami, marking his liberation, is a highly sacred event in Jainism.

Highlights of the Procession and Devotional Ambience

According to Chaturmas Committee General Secretary Prakash Singhvi, tableaux such as Airavat elephant, wealth-showering Kubera, and devotional Ashta Kumarikas captivated the audience. The entire route echoed with devotional music, dance, and chants, with flower showers and resonating praises filling the atmosphere.

Ritual Worship and Sammed Shikhar Offering

Publicity Coordinator Viplav Kumar Jain informed that at the Town Hall stage, the idol of Lord Parshvanath was ritually bathed and worshipped with water, sandalwood, rice, flowers, naivedya, lamps, incense, and fruits. Shantidhara was conducted by the Paras Singhvi family. The replica worship at Sammed Shikhar was led by Acharya Shri and his Sangh, with the Neelkamal Ajmera family receiving the honour. The 23-kg Nirvana Laddu offering was made by the Gendalal Vinod Fandot family, followed by offerings from all devotees as a personal expression of spiritual upliftment.
