New Delhi, May 22: Political tensions in Delhi have escalated once again, with accusations flying between parties. Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has targeted the central government, raising concerns about the country’s oil and gas reserves.
Through social media, he expressed that alarming situations are emerging in various parts of the country, yet the central government has failed to provide clear information on the matter. Kejriwal questioned how much oil and gas stock the government currently possesses, how long it will last, and when new supplies are expected.
He alleged that the government’s silence on this issue is creating confusion and fear among the public. “Rumors are rampant, and the public is in a state of panic, yet the government is nowhere to be seen,” he stated.
On the other hand, AAP MLA Sanjeev Jha criticized the Delhi government and the Chief Minister, accusing them of hypocrisy. He pointed out that while the Chief Minister urges citizens to save and avoid unnecessary expenses, she herself attempts to create a public relations spectacle by walking to the LG House, a mere 180 meters away.
Jha further accused the government of wasting resources by transporting people in buses and cars from different colonies for the inauguration of a small park in Mukhermipur village of the Burari assembly constituency. He noted that the park, proposed during Kejriwal’s tenure, took the current government nearly a year and a half to complete.
He questioned whether using hundreds of vehicles for such events is not a form of extravagance. Jha sarcastically remarked, “The elephant’s teeth are for eating and showing.” He highlighted the contradiction of advising the public to engage in online learning and work from home while simultaneously gathering large crowds for government events.
