Major Police Operation Uncovers Illegal Sword Factory in Nathdwara

Udaipur, May 3: In a significant crackdown, police in Nathdwara have uncovered an illegal sword manufacturing operation. The raid revealed a factory operating within a scrap yard and welding shop, leading to the seizure of 9,228 swords and the arrest of three suspects.

Over 9,000 Swords Recovered from Scrap Yard
According to Vikram Singh, the officer in charge of the Shrinetaji police station, authorities received information about illegal sword production and storage in the Upali Odan area. Upon investigation, police raided the site and recovered 9,032 swords. The suspects present, Ajay Sikligar and Sonu Suthar, were unable to provide any valid documentation for the swords.

Police also confiscated tools such as grinders, welding machines, and polishing equipment. Many swords were fully completed, while others were still in the sharpening process.

Weapons Stockpile Found at Welding Shop
In a related operation at another welding shop in the same area, police discovered an additional 196 swords. Sikandar Sikligar was arrested at this location, where he was actively preparing swords.

Case Filed Under Arms Act, Investigation Underway
The police have filed cases against the three suspects under the Arms Act and have initiated an investigation. This operation was conducted under the supervision of DYSP Shipra Rajawat, following directives from Superintendent of Police Hemant Kalal. Authorities are now probing the purpose behind the large-scale sword production and whether a larger network is involved.
