Lucknow, May 22: Uttar Pradesh‘s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya extended greetings to the residents and nature enthusiasts on the occasion of World Biodiversity Day. He emphasized that the diversity of nature is the true wealth of life.
Maurya stated that biodiversity is not just an environmental issue; it is the foundation for human life, agriculture, water, wildlife, and the secure future of upcoming generations. He highlighted that the various species of animals, plants, water sources, and natural resources on Earth play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance. If biodiversity is preserved, human life will remain healthy and secure.
He pointed out that rising pollution, climate change, and the reckless exploitation of natural resources pose a serious threat to biodiversity, which is a global concern. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several welfare campaigns are being launched in the country for environmental protection, water conservation, tree planting, and the enhancement of natural resources. In line with this, the Uttar Pradesh government is prioritizing environmental protection and green development through extensive tree planting, water conservation, and cleanliness campaigns.
The Deputy Chief Minister urged residents to view nature conservation not merely as a government initiative but as a social and moral responsibility. He stated that if every individual commits to planting a tree, conserving water, and becoming sensitive to natural resources, a clean and safe environment can be ensured for future generations. Maurya concluded by saying that World Biodiversity Day sends a message that nature and human life complement each other. Therefore, everyone must play an active role in protecting biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance.
