Mumbai, May 29: Anand Dubey, a leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed deep concern over the recent incident in Pune during an interview with a news agency. He highlighted the alarming issue of illegal liquor production in Pimpri-Chinchwad, adjacent to Pune, where toxic alcohol is being sold openly. This has resulted in several fatalities, with many others in critical condition. Dubey emphasized that those involved in the illegal liquor trade show no fear of the law, driven by greed and a blatant disregard for regulations.
He reported that 13 people have already died, and the situation remains dire for many others. Dubey stated that law and order in Maharashtra has collapsed. Criminals are rampant in Pune and Nashik, and the necessary actions against alcohol, drugs, and other narcotics are not being enforced by the police. He urged the Chief Minister to take serious action in light of the gravity of the situation and suggested that he personally visit the site to assess the circumstances.
Regarding Siddaramaiah’s resignation, Dubey noted that he became Chief Minister after the 2023 elections. At that time, there was discussion within the Congress about having two Chief Ministers for two and a half years each. With Siddaramaiah nearing three years in office, it is a natural process for someone to step down.
Dubey further mentioned that the Congress party wishes to send Siddaramaiah to the Rajya Sabha, but he prefers to continue serving in the state. He expressed confidence in the partnership between Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar, believing they will succeed. He anticipates that the Congress will win again in Karnataka during the upcoming assembly elections.
On the topic of Ajit Doval, head of India’s security agencies, Dubey stated that he has made it clear that double standards against terrorism will not be tolerated. Whenever issues related to terrorism arise, Doval dedicates himself to national security and service. His statements are crucial and serious.
Dubey emphasized that when Doval speaks in Russia, it should resonate globally, as both India and Russia are significant nations fighting against terrorism. He pointed out that Pakistan remains a focal point of global terrorism and agreed with Doval that a dual approach to terrorism is unacceptable.
