Major Burglary Gang Busted in Greater Noida, Valuables Worth ₹50 Lakhs Recovered

Mumbai, May 29: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting four members of an inter-district burglary gang. The Surajpur police station conducted the operation, leading to the recovery of stolen jewelry and cash valued at approximately ₹50 lakhs.

The police seized ₹1.65 lakhs in cash, an auto used in the crimes, and three illegal knives from the suspects. The arrested individuals are identified as Pradeep Yadav alias Fauji, Shiv Kumar alias Choocha, Veeresh alias Veera, and Suraj alias Banta. All suspects are residents of different districts but were living in the Gautam Buddh Nagar area at the time of their arrest.

According to police reports, the gang executed their burglaries with remarkable cunning. They would scout various societies and sectors in Noida and Delhi NCR, targeting vacant homes. Once they identified a suitable opportunity, they would break locks and grills to gain entry, stealing valuables and cash before fleeing the scene.

The gang typically operated in groups of four to five, with one or two members keeping watch outside while the others committed the thefts. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to several burglary incidents.

They admitted to breaking into a vacant house on May 21 in Omicron-3, where they stole jewelry worth millions and ₹3.70 lakhs in cash. Additionally, they carried out burglaries in two separate vacant homes in the Delta-1 area on May 24. Cases related to these incidents have already been registered at the Surajpur police station.

The recovered items include gold and silver chains, necklaces, bangles, rings, anklets, mangalsutras, earrings, tops, coins, and other valuable jewelry. The police also recovered an auto used in the commission of these crimes.

Investigations revealed that all arrested individuals have prior criminal records, with cases registered against them for theft, arms offenses, and other serious charges across various police stations. The police are now probing the gang’s other members and their network.
