Temporary Closure of Railway Level Crossing C-4 in Budgam for Track Upgrade

Budgam, May 29: The Northern Railway has issued an important notice for passengers and vehicle drivers. Railway level crossing number C-4, located near Nadigam Halt in Budgam district, will be temporarily closed. This closure will begin at 8 AM on May 29 and will last until 8 PM on June 1. The crossing will be inaccessible to all types of vehicles for a total of four days (96 hours).

This crossing, situated on the Wadwan-Bundigam Road (kilometers 79/13-79/14), is crucial for local traffic.

According to railway authorities, the temporary closure is necessary for upgrading the track and installing a modern rubberized level crossing surface. This upgrade aims to enhance safety and comfort for both road and rail traffic. The new technology will reduce vibrations and improve grip for vehicles at the level crossing, significantly lowering the risk of accidents.

A senior section engineer from Northern Railway has requested the public, drivers, and passengers to plan their journeys in advance. He advised allowing extra time for travel and following the instructions of traffic police and railway staff present at the site.

The railway has expressed regret for any inconvenience caused, emphasizing that this upgrade work is essential for passenger safety and improved facilities. Once completed, this level crossing will be more modern and secure than ever before.

This crossing is vital for the daily commute of local residents. During the four-day closure, local administration and railway officials are advising the use of alternative routes. Authorities have assured that the work will be completed swiftly to minimize disruption.
