New Delhi, May 29: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a significant update regarding activities following board exam results. The Post-Result Activities Portal will be launched on June 1, 2026. This initiative aims to streamline the verification and re-evaluation process of answer sheets.
This year, the evaluation of Class 12 answer sheets was conducted using an ‘on-screen marking’ system. Following the announcement of results, many students expressed dissatisfaction with their scores. Millions have applied for re-evaluation and scanned copies of their answer sheets.
Approximately 1.8 million students appeared for the Class 12 exams this year, with nearly 9.8 million answer sheets and around 400 million pages scanned. So far, about 400,000 students have accessed approximately 1.1 million scanned answer sheets through the portal. CBSE has acknowledged the concerns raised by students and parents regarding the evaluation and re-evaluation process. Students have faced challenges in submitting fees for re-evaluation, and many claim that the answer sheets shown to them do not belong to them.
On Friday, CBSE stated that numerous students wish to apply for verification, recounting, and re-evaluation of their answer sheets after the results were declared. To facilitate these students and ensure the process’s reliability, the board has set the portal’s operational date. The board assures that all standards and protocols related to evaluation will be strictly followed to provide a fair and transparent system for students.
Once the portal is operational, students will be able to apply online for the verification and re-evaluation of their answer sheets. This process aims to provide students with an opportunity to address any doubts regarding their scores. CBSE also mentioned that if any student or parent requires information related to results, the verification process, or re-evaluation, they can contact the CBSE Tele-Counseling Helpline at 1800 11 8004. Assistance can also be obtained via email.
Previously, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan held a high-level review meeting at the CBSE headquarters. The meeting focused on issues related to the evaluation of Class 12 exams and post-result processes.
The Education Minister instructed officials to ensure timely, transparent, and student-friendly resolutions to student issues. He emphasized strengthening student support systems, improving evaluation and monitoring frameworks, and enhancing the CBSE digital platform. Additionally, he reviewed the progress of post-result services.
