
Bhopal, May 29: The wheat procurement season is in full swing in Madhya Pradesh, setting a new record. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that the state government is dedicated to the welfare of farmers.
CM Yadav emphasized that his administration will continue to work tirelessly for the benefit of farmers. He noted that Madhya Pradesh has achieved the highest wheat procurement from farmers across the country, breaking all previous records by purchasing 10.431 million metric tons of wheat.
When reflecting on the state’s wheat procurement, CM Yadav mentioned that Madhya Pradesh ranks second in wheat production after Punjab, highlighting the significant volume of wheat procured.
For the first time, the state has decided to purchase wheat from small and medium farmers. Approximately 32.72 metric tons of wheat have been procured from these farmers, with a support price of ₹2,585 and an additional bonus of ₹40, totaling ₹2,625 per quintal.
He reiterated that farmer welfare remains a top priority. The minimum support price (MSP) is expected to increase, and efforts for farmer welfare will intensify. The abundant wheat production is a fortunate development for the state, and the government will continue its commitment to farmer welfare.
