Hydroponic Fodder Unit Launched to Provide Year-Round Nutritional Feed for Livestock

Lucknow, May 29: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated a hydroponic fodder production unit at Jan Bhawan on Friday. This modern facility aims to supply nutritious, chemical-free green fodder to livestock throughout the year.

The initiative aligns with Governor Patel’s vision for environmental conservation. The unit is designed to enhance livestock protection and improve nutritional systems using limited resources. The hydroponic system is recognized as a significant step towards sustainable agriculture and water conservation, producing more nutritious fodder with less water, space, and time.

Located at Jan Bhawan, the unit can produce approximately 100 kilograms of green fodder daily. It will cultivate nutritious feeds such as maize, barley, oats, and wheat. The entire process, from seed sowing to ready fodder, takes just eight days, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh green fodder.

One of the key advantages of hydroponic technology is its minimal requirement for water and space compared to traditional farming. Additionally, no chemicals are used, making the fodder completely free of harmful substances and rich in nutrients. Adverse weather conditions do not affect this production system, allowing for uninterrupted availability of green fodder year-round.
