Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Promotes Fuel Conservation with E-Rickshaw Commute

Lucknow, May 29: Uttar Pradesh‘s Finance Minister, Suresh Khanna, took an e-rickshaw to the assembly today, emphasizing the importance of fuel conservation and promoting electric mobility. Previously, he had arrived by bicycle and motorcycle.

In a conversation with reporters, Khanna stated that it is the responsibility of every citizen to minimize the use of petroleum products, as expected by the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. He announced his commitment to using electric vehicles for commuting to the office at least once a week, adhering to the appeal made by the PM and CM.

He remarked that the ongoing international pressures necessitate dialogue to resolve issues without jeopardizing the global community. Khanna urged every citizen to stand with their leadership and respect their sentiments by conserving petrol and diesel at least one day a week.

On May 21, Khanna had arrived by motorcycle, highlighting the need for leaders to reduce dependency on oil due to current international circumstances. He reiterated the importance of following the appeals made by PM Modi and CM Yogi, encouraging everyone to refrain from using personal vehicles.

Earlier, on May 14, Khanna had cycled to the office, stressing the national responsibility to save fuel, as significant foreign currency is spent on imports. He noted that approximately 85-86% of the country’s fuel needs are met through imports, which heavily impacts foreign exchange. The current global situation is both unfortunate and challenging.
