IPL 2026: RR Wins Toss Against GT and Opts to Bat First

New Chandigarh, May 29: The second qualifier of IPL 2026 is underway at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, featuring a clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT). RR captain Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to bat first.

After winning the toss, Parag stated, “We will bat first. The wicket is similar to what we expected, but I believe it slows down towards the end, and we have bowlers ready for that. We just need to play better cricket for 40 overs; the team that performs best will win. There are no changes in our lineup.”

GT captain Shubman Gill remarked, “We would have batted first as well. There have already been 40 overs played on this wicket, and its nature isn’t going to change. Everything is at stake for us; it’s now or never. Sai Kishore returns to the team, which is the only change.”

RR reached this qualifier after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the eliminator, while GT faced a loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the first qualifier. The winning team from this match will face RCB in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

In the league phase, RR won the first match against GT by 6 wickets, while GT claimed the second match by 77 runs.
