Sarfaraz Khan Promises Strong Leadership as T20 Mumbai League Approaches

Mumbai, May 29: The T20 Mumbai League is set to take place from June 1 to June 13 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This league will feature both men’s and women’s categories. There are eight teams competing in the men’s division and three in the women’s division, with all matches scheduled at the Wankhede Stadium.

The captains of the men’s and women’s teams from the Akash Tigers (Mumbai Western Suburbs, MWS) attended an event to discuss their preparations.

Sarfaraz Khan, captain of the Akash Tigers (MWS), expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I feel good. I will strive to lead effectively, maintain a positive atmosphere in the team, and aim for the title. We will do our best with what we have.”

Sarfaraz was part of the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026. He had the opportunity to play in the early stages of the league, showcasing impressive performance. In eight matches, he scored 161 runs at a strike rate of 169.47 across seven innings.

Growing up playing at Wankhede Stadium, Sarfaraz is expected to deliver a strong performance in the T20 Mumbai League. Fans are eager to see how he performs during the tournament.

Humaira Kazi, captain of the Akash Tigers (women’s team), commented, “If you look at cricket from 2-3 years ago compared to today, there has been a tremendous change. You can see players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Jamie excelling in women’s cricket. I believe cricket has developed significantly, and there are no limits to its growth.”

At 33, Humaira Kazi has previously played for the Mumbai Indians in the Women’s Premier League.
