
Sambhal, May 29: A high alert has been declared in Sambhal in anticipation of Friday prayers. Strict security arrangements have been made at the Jama Masjid.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh stated that police personnel have been deployed at key mosques across the district. Sambhal has been divided into several sectors and zones for better management. Surveillance is being conducted at important mosques using CCTV cameras. Additionally, all Station House Officers (SHOs) and local police officials are patrolling the area. Authorities are optimistic that the Friday prayers will proceed smoothly.
Advocate Mashood Ali Farooqi, Secretary of the Shahi Jama Masjid Committee, extended greetings to the community for the upcoming Bakrid festival. He expressed gratitude and reassured that Friday prayers will continue as usual. The committee has made comprehensive arrangements and urged everyone to maintain peace and harmony, emphasizing that the city and country belong to all. He advised against paying attention to rumors.
Farooqi further urged the public not to forward any fake or inflammatory messages. He praised the police for their effective arrangements, stating that they remain vigilant and cooperative during the prayers.
On May 28, peaceful prayers were conducted in Sambhal for Bakrid. Advocate Zafar Ali, President of the Shahi Jama Masjid, remarked that the police and administration are fully alert. He noted that the atmosphere is peaceful, with no issues reported.
Zafar Ali prayed for continued peace and tranquility in the country and Sambhal, confirming that no prayers were conducted on the streets. Instead, they held prayers in two shifts within the mosque.
