Rajasthan Ensures Sufficient Fuel and Fertilizer Stock Amid Regional Tensions

Jaipur, March 28: In light of the changing circumstances in West Asia, Rajasthan’s Chief Secretary V. Srinivasan convened a high-level review meeting with department heads at the state secretariat on Saturday. This meeting followed directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently met with chief ministers and lieutenant governors.

The meeting focused on the availability and supply of LPG, petrol, diesel, and fertilizers across the state. Chief Secretary Srinivasan reassured the public that Rajasthan has ample stocks of LPG, petrol, diesel, and fertilizers, urging citizens not to panic. He instructed all departments to work together to maintain uninterrupted supply and provide maximum relief to the public.

Srinivasan noted that an increase in domestic LPG production and diversification of sourcing outside West Asia have improved supply conditions. Supplies to domestic consumers, hospitals, and institutions are proceeding smoothly, and the distribution of commercial LPG cylinders has resumed.

He directed the Agriculture Department to ensure that farmers do not face any shortages of fertilizers, including urea and DAP. He emphasized that there should be no diversion or black marketing of fertilizers. Sufficient supply must be secured in districts with high demand, and efforts to promote nano-urea and bio-fertilizers should be strengthened.

Highlighting the importance of long-term energy security, Srinivasan instructed that the expansion of PNG (Piped Natural Gas) connections be prioritized. He stated that the target of 500,000 PNG connections should be achieved swiftly, with pipeline infrastructure extended to as many areas as possible. Oil and gas companies were directed to coordinate with the department to take necessary actions.

The Chief Secretary also emphasized the effective implementation of all welfare schemes to provide relief to the public. He called for daily price monitoring reports and strict actions against hoarding and black marketing.

Reiterating the state’s preparedness, he assured that there are ample reserves, rigorous monitoring, and a coordinated governance system in place to manage the situation effectively. He advised the public not to panic, assuring them that there is no shortage of essential items.
