New Delhi, May 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent diplomatic tour to the UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy is being hailed as a significant milestone in India’s foreign relations. This journey is considered one of the most crucial diplomatic activities in recent years. It has provided India with substantial strategic, economic, technological, and geopolitical advantages that will bolster the country’s national interests in the long run.
Amit Malviya, in charge of the BJP’s national information and technology department and co-in-charge for West Bengal, shared his insights on this historic achievement via his official ‘X’ account. He stated that under Modi’s leadership, India is no longer just a large market; it is now viewed as a reliable, influential, and essential global power playing a pivotal role in shaping the future world.
As the world faces various uncertainties, including conflicts in the Middle East, supply chain disruptions, and rising global competition, this extensive tour further solidifies India’s position as a dependable and stabilizing global partner.
During the visit to the UAE, cooperation on crude oil, LNG, and strategic petroleum reserves deepened, enhancing India’s energy security amid global instability, as noted by Malviya. He emphasized that this agreement has increased UAE’s participation in India’s strategic petroleum reserves and promoted trade in local currencies. The tour also yielded significant results in various parts of Europe.
In the Netherlands, relations were strengthened with a focus on future technologies such as semiconductors, chip manufacturing ecosystems, and cybersecurity. Sweden emerged as a key partner in India’s digital transformation, with increased collaboration in areas like artificial intelligence, 6G telecom research, and advanced manufacturing.
The Ministry of External Affairs reported that several concrete outcomes were achieved, allowing India to connect more deeply with advanced European technologies and manufacturing systems. Discussions during the India-Nordic summit in Norway centered on partnerships in future sectors like green shipping, Arctic research, and the blue economy.
Another major diplomatic milestone occurred in Italy, where relations were elevated to a ‘Special Strategic Partnership.’ Agreements were reached to enhance cooperation in defense production, aerospace, and critical minerals, along with advancing the India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor.
Prime Minister Modi also met with numerous industrialists and business leaders from Europe and Nordic countries, further strengthening India’s image as a reliable hub for investment, innovation, and manufacturing.
The overarching message from all these agreements and achievements is clear: India has become a crucial center in the process of diversifying the global supply chain and is playing a significant role in shaping the future global order as a trustworthy democratic partner.
