Major Fire Breaks Out at Pacific Mall in Ghaziabad, Controlled After Two Hours

Ghaziabad, May 21: A significant fire erupted early Thursday morning at the Pacific Mall located in the Kaushambi area of Ghaziabad, causing panic among shoppers and staff. The blaze started in the movie theater inside the mall, quickly filling the premises with smoke.

Initial reports indicate that the fire was triggered by a short circuit in the theater’s projector, which rapidly spread to one of the auditoriums. Fortunately, mall employees were present at the time, and all were evacuated safely, preventing any injuries.

The fire department received the alert around 7 AM. In response, approximately a dozen fire engines from the Kaushambi fire station and nearby areas were dispatched to the scene. Given the severity of the situation, the fire department promptly initiated rescue and fire control operations. Firefighters donned protective gear and entered the smoke-filled theater, facing significant visibility challenges that complicated their efforts.

Despite these difficulties, the firefighters bravely continued their attempts to control the blaze. After more than two hours of intense effort, they successfully extinguished the fire. Meanwhile, a large crowd gathered outside the mall, prompting police to cordon off the area for safety and prevent public access.

According to fire department officials, preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and the effectiveness of the safety equipment. Following the event, both the mall management and fire department teams conducted a comprehensive inspection of the theater area. Thankfully, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage from this incident.
