Surat, May 21: The Surat city police have successfully executed a special operation named ‘Operation Rambo,’ resulting in the arrest of 73 individuals involved in illegal weapons possession. Among those apprehended are several suspects with serious charges, including murder, robbery, and drug-related offenses.
This operation was initiated by the Special Operations Group (SOG) under the directive of Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot. The police took action in response to the rising use of dangerous weapons such as swords, knives, and daggers within the city.
According to police reports, the operation aimed to strictly enforce the city’s weapon ban and target antisocial elements who instill fear and unrest among the public with illegal arms.

Following this, Deputy Police Commissioner Rajdeep Singh Nakum and Police Inspector A.S. Sonara collected data from police stations where serious crimes like murder, assault, and robbery had recently occurred.
