Rajasthans Gram Choupal Initiative Aims to Strengthen Villages, Says CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

Banswara, May 21: Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed journalists regarding the ongoing ‘Gram Choupal’ initiative in the state. He emphasized that this program is being implemented across Rajasthan.

Sharma stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes that true development for both the state and the nation can only be achieved when villages are economically strong and farmers, youth, and laborers are empowered. Under Modi’s leadership, the government is engaging with farmers through the ‘Gram Choupal’ initiative in every village.

He highlighted the government’s efforts to ensure that the benefits of central and state schemes reach the grassroots level. Farmers, laborers, women, and youth are all reaping the advantages of these programs. The government is also focused on creating employment opportunities within the panchayats.

CM Bhajan Lal pointed out that India is an agriculture-dependent nation. He discussed the importance of adopting new technologies for farming, maximizing crop yield with minimal water, and identifying profitable crops. Economic empowerment for mothers and sisters in the villages is only possible through such initiatives that strengthen rural areas.

He noted that if farmers adopt scientific farming methods, they will see positive outcomes and become economically robust. The ‘Choupal’ meetings help address small issues faced by villagers and provide solutions.

Recently, Rajasthan achieved a significant milestone in tobacco control. On May 19, the state’s Medical and Health Department was awarded a prestigious international honor under the World Health Organization’s World No Tobacco Day Award 2026 for exemplary work in implementing tobacco control initiatives statewide.

Expressing his happiness over this achievement, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that this recognition reflects the state government’s unwavering commitment to public health, effective policy implementation, and the creation of a ‘Tobacco-Free Rajasthan.’ He reiterated that the government is consistently taking concrete and result-oriented steps to protect citizens, especially the youth, from the harmful effects of tobacco use.
