Two Inter-State Robbers and Vehicle Thieves Arrested in New Delhi

New Delhi, May 21: In a significant breakthrough against robbery, snatching, and vehicle theft, the police have arrested two inter-state robbers and vehicle thieves in the eastern district of Delhi. The arrests took place in the New Ashok Nagar area, where the police recovered six stolen two-wheelers and five mobile phones.

Delhi police officials stated that this operation has aided in solving several cases of vehicle theft, snatching, and mobile theft in the eastern district and surrounding areas. The arrested individuals have been identified as 35-year-old Manoj, a resident of Rajbir Colony, and Anurag from Ghazipur.

According to officials, they received intelligence about two suspects involved in a mobile snatching incident in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, who were reportedly using a stolen motorcycle. Acting on this information, the police set up a strategic trap at a designated location in New Ashok Nagar. During surveillance, two suspicious individuals were spotted riding a black motorcycle. Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee. However, the alert police team successfully apprehended them after a brief chase.

Verification of the motorcycle revealed that it had been stolen from Mandawali, Delhi, with an e-FIR registered on March 13. Further questioning and the suspects’ indications led the police team to recover four more stolen motorcycles, one stolen scooter, and five mobile phones hidden near Gaushala Road in Ghazoli, Delhi. The investigation is ongoing to uncover their involvement in other cases and to identify potential buyers and associates linked to the inter-state vehicle theft and snatching gang.
