Jaipur, October 26 (Daily Kiran) — In a major breakthrough under Operation Chakravyuh, the Pratapgarh Police have arrested a most-wanted drug smuggler linked to the Kamal Rana gang in connection with a massive 897.5 kg Doda Chura (poppy husk) seizure case registered nearly two years ago.
Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the Chhoti Sadri Police arrested the absconding accused Bhim Singh Bawri (45), son of Ramchandra, a resident of Sandeekheda under Chhoti Sadri police station, currently residing in Chhitakheda, Neemuch district (Madhya Pradesh).
Arrest from Neemuch District After Two Years on the Run
The police team apprehended Bawri from Chhitakheda village under Jeeran police station limits in Madhya Pradesh’s Neemuch district. The accused was not only involved in the July 19, 2022 Doda Chura smuggling case but had also been declared an absconder by the ADJ Court, Kapasan in another NDPS case registered at Akola police station, Chittorgarh.

SP Aditya informed that on July 19, 2022, the Chhoti Sadri police intercepted two Scorpio vehicles near Baria Pulia during a road blockade and seized 897.500 kilograms of illegal Doda Chura. The smugglers, however, managed to flee the scene at that time.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Bhim Singh Bawri had provided his house to the smugglers from Marwar for filling and packaging the Doda Chura, and he played a key logistical role in facilitating the illegal operation.
Investigation Continues
Police are now interrogating the accused to identify and trace other members of the drug trafficking network involved in the racket. Authorities believe the interrogation may lead to crucial information about the wider Kamal Rana gang’s smuggling operations across Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
