Bhopal, May 16: The Madhya Pradesh Congress will conduct statewide protests on Saturday in response to irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This announcement was made by Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari during a press conference at the state Congress office in Bhopal. Patwari criticized the BJP for its repeated failures regarding paper leaks and examination scams across the country.
The Congress leader accused both the central and state governments, led by the BJP, of failing to protect the future of nearly 24 lakh students who participated in the exam. He emphasized that the NEET-UG 2026 incident is a matter connected to the nation’s future and soul. Patwari stated that the recurring irregularities in national-level competitive exams have severely eroded the trust of students and parents in the system.
He noted that approximately 24 lakh students took the NEET exam, but once again, allegations of paper leaks and fraud have devastated the hard work and hopes of these students and their families. Patwari pointed out that similar complaints have emerged in previous years. He alleged that examination systems in BJP-ruled states and at the national level are increasingly plagued by corruption and political interference.
Citing the Madhya Pradesh Vyapam scam, he indicated that the frequent paper leaks and irregularities in recruitment point to a deep systemic failure. He remarked that the future of the youth is being jeopardized. Parents invest years preparing their children for these exams, often taking loans or selling land to send them to coaching centers in Kota and other cities. However, a single paper leak can ruin years of sacrifices in a day.
The Congress leader stated that when such scams come to light, accountability is only placed on lower-level officials and staff, while politically connected individuals escape action. He claimed that investigations into various examination-related scams have revealed the involvement of organized gangs operating under political protection. Patwari announced that the Congress will protest throughout Madhya Pradesh to raise awareness of this issue among students and the general public.
The party will also hold another press conference on Saturday to present a comprehensive campaign focused on youth, employment, and education. Patwari further noted that students are losing faith in the examination system. If the future of 24 lakh candidates is not secure, then the future of the country is also at risk.
