Lucknow, May 16: In the 59th match of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a 7-wicket defeat against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad acknowledged that the poor performance of the bowlers was a key factor in the team’s loss.
With 12 points from 12 matches, CSK must win both of their remaining games to secure a playoff spot. After the defeat against LSG, Ruturaj stated, “It was not a good day for bowling. The first challenge is to reach Chennai and ensure we improve in areas that need attention. We must adapt to the conditions in the remaining two league matches.”
Despite the setback against LSG, CSK still has a chance to reach the playoffs. Ruturaj dismissed any panic regarding the team’s standing in the points table, saying, “It’s simple; nothing is difficult. There’s no need to worry, just ensure we have a good day, and hopefully, we can turn things around.”
