Jaipur, October 12 (Daily Kiran): Rajasthan Police have tightened the noose around narcotics traffickers with a decisive action under ‘Operation Chakravyuh’. Acting under the direction of Pratapgarh Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, the Chhoti Sadri Police have successfully frozen properties worth ₹2 crore 26 lakh 80 thousand belonging to a known drug trafficker, under Section 68F(1) of the NDPS Act. The proposal was approved by the Government of India.

SP Aditya stated that the main goal of this action is to deprive criminals of their illegal income and break the economic backbone of organized drug trade. The operation began on April 23, when Sub-Inspector Nirbhay Singh and his team arrested Budharam Vishnoi with 2.25 kg of illegal opium.
During interrogation, Budharam revealed that the opium was supplied by Devisingh Sondhiya, a resident of Gomana village, from his hotel New Aashirwad. Investigation further exposed that Devisingh had been involved in drug trafficking for years, with six prior cases registered against him. Following the April incident, he absconded but was later arrested on July 30 and sent to judicial custody.
Extensive Criminal Record
Police records show that Devisingh has a long criminal history with six NDPS-related cases registered in Chittorgarh, Nikumbh, Nimbahera, and Gogunda police stations. Additionally, he faces cases under dacoity preparation (Dhambotra PS) and the JJ Act/Child Labour laws (Dholapani PS).
Assets Bought with Drug Money
Under the guidance of SP Aditya, the police launched a detailed financial investigation after receiving confidential information about Devisingh’s illegally acquired assets. The probe revealed that Devisingh had invested his drug profits to buy a luxury hotel worth ₹2.20 crore located along the main national highway near Jakhamia village, registered under his wife Shantibai’s name.
He also purchased a pickup vehicle worth ₹5.50 lakh in his own name and a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle worth ₹1.30 lakh in the name of his son Arjun Singh, bringing the total market value of his movable and immovable properties to ₹2.26 crore.
Assets Frozen Through Central Approval
The freezing proposal was formally submitted by Chhoti Sadri SHO Praveen Tank on October 11 to the Competent Authority and Administrator (SAFEMA & NDPS Act), New Delhi, which was immediately approved. The authority has now initiated proceedings to permanently confiscate the illegal assets held by Devisingh and his family.
SP Aditya emphasized that the Operation Chakravyuh drive will continue across the district, targeting drug traffickers and their financial networks, ensuring that those involved in narcotics trade are stripped of their unlawfully earned wealth.
