Bhopal, April 6: The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, inaugurated the book ‘Geeta Bharati’ written by Muslim author Mustafa Arif, who hails from Ujjain, on Monday.
After the book’s release at his residence in Bhopal, CM Yadav praised the author’s efforts. He emphasized that such initiatives play a crucial role in fostering social harmony and mutual understanding among different communities. He remarked that the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita are universal and transcend religious boundaries.
Yadav stated that when an author from another faith interprets such a sacred text with devotion and understanding, it conveys a powerful message of unity and shared heritage.
The book presents verses from the Bhagavad Gita in a unique literary format. It translates the original Sanskrit verses into Hindi poetic ‘Muktak’ style, making them more accessible to the general public.
Author Mustafa Arif expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, explaining that his aim in writing ‘Geeta Bharati’ was to bridge cultural gaps and bring the philosophical teachings of the Gita closer to everyday readers. He emphasized that spiritual knowledge belongs to all humanity and should not be confined to a single religion.
He shared that the book is based on 786 Hindi Muktaks derived from the 700 Sanskrit verses of the Bhagavad Gita. After writing 10,000 Hindi verses based on the 6,666 verses of the Holy Quran, divine inspiration guided him towards religious texts centered on the philosophy of ‘Karma.’ Arif noted that the concept of ‘Karma’ in the Bhagavad Gita has greatly inspired him. He pointed out the many similarities between Hindu and Islamic scriptures, both of which emphasize divine inspiration.
