Police Solve Attempted Murder Case in New Delhi, Arrests Fleeing Suspects

New Delhi, May 17: The Shastri Park police station team has successfully resolved an attempted murder case. Authorities have apprehended a fleeing suspect, recovering a country-made pistol along with a live cartridge and a spent shell.

On May 15, an e-rickshaw parking attendant was shot. One suspect was caught at the scene, while another was later arrested. The apprehended suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Sameer.

Based on Sameer’s information, police recovered a country-made pistol, a live cartridge, and a spent shell. During ongoing interrogation, Sameer admitted his involvement in the crime, explaining that the victim, Ehsan, had scolded him harshly for sitting in the e-rickshaw. The investigation is still ongoing.

In a separate incident, police uncovered a planned criminal conspiracy related to attempted murder. Authorities reported that on the night of May 10, around 10:30 PM, a man named Avinash Kumar complained that while he was at his rented home in Chandni Chowk’s bicycle market, an unknown individual entered, brandished a pistol, and fired 2-3 rounds. One bullet grazed his right thigh.

Given the seriousness of the incident, police formed a team to investigate. At approximately 3 AM on May 15, the police team arrested a suspect, Lokesh Dahiya, at his home. Clothes and sandals he wore during the incident were recovered. Following his lead, at 4 AM the same day, another suspect, Deepak Kumar, was also apprehended at his residence. The Scorpio vehicle used in the crime was seized.

During questioning, both suspects revealed that Avinash Kumar was the mastermind behind the criminal plot. Acting swiftly on this information, police arrested Avinash Kumar at his home the same day. From his residence, authorities recovered a country-made pistol, two magazines, and 14 live cartridges. The police also seized five mobile phones used by the suspects.
