Rajkot, May 17: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) acted on intelligence regarding the suspicious movement of 180 kilograms of silver at Rajkot Airport. Following coordination with the Rajkot Crime Branch, the ATS team arrived at the airport and seized the silver. A man, who was supposed to receive the shipment, has been detained.
The investigating agency clarified that it would be premature to draw any solid conclusions until a thorough investigation is completed.
During the investigation, the ATS examined all documents related to the silver in the presence of the detained individual. It was discovered that the documentation was incomplete. Additionally, the ATS inspected all parcels and found indications of tax evasion associated with this silver shipment, warranting further investigation.
Furthermore, the ATS’s inquiry revealed that this case is linked to GST regulations. There were violations of GST rules concerning the movement of this silver, prompting the involvement of GST officials in the investigation.
