Anil Vij Defends Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Amid NEET Paper Leak Controversy

Ambala, May 17: The political discourse surrounding the NEET paper leak continues to intensify. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, prompting a sharp response from Haryana Cabinet Minister Anil Vij.

Vij stated that demanding resignations has become a common political trend, while the real issue lies in demonstrating effective governance. He defended Pradhan, asserting that he is one of the most capable ministers in the government. As soon as the paper leak incident came to light, Pradhan initiated immediate action. Ongoing efforts are being made to apprehend the culprits and ensure they face justice. An investigation is underway to identify the shortcomings that led to this situation.

Targeting the opposition, Vij remarked that it is easy to demand resignations from the sidelines, but fulfilling responsibilities and taking concrete actions is far more crucial. True accountability is determined not just by statements but by the actions taken on the ground, and the government is diligently working in this direction.

In a post on the media platform X, Rahul Gandhi highlighted the recurring issue of NEET paper leaks, stating, “In 2024, the NEET paper was leaked. The exam was not canceled. The minister did not resign. The CBI initiated an investigation. A committee was formed. Again, in 2026, the NEET paper leaked. The exam was canceled. The minister still did not resign. The CBI is investigating once more. Another committee will be formed.”

Gandhi pressed Prime Minister Modi with questions, asking why these leaks keep occurring, why there is silence regarding the examination discussions, and why the failing education minister has not been dismissed.

In another post, he criticized the Modi government for lacking accountability, describing it as a machine that evades responsibility. He noted that while the NEET paper leaked, not a single minister has resigned. He pointed out that the NTA DG was removed in 2024 but was later appointed as the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary.
