New Delhi: Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood attended the zonal level event of the NEEEV (New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision) programme held at Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Motibagh on Wednesday as the chief guest. The event showcased innovations by 46 students selected from various zones. The minister stated that through NEEEV, the Delhi Government is reinforcing a future-ready education system.
The mega NEEEV initiative aims to develop innovation-based thinking among students to solve real-life problems and inspire them to consider entrepreneurship as a career option.
According to the Education Minister’s office, the programme seeks to promote a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students of Delhi Government schools. Under the NEEEV initiative, students presented creative ideas and entrepreneurial projects. The platform strengthens students’ creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and self-reliance.
Addressing the students, Minister Ashish Sood congratulated all participants for their commendable startup efforts. He highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government is continuously advancing quality, practical, and future-oriented education. The NEEEV programme is a significant step in this direction.
He noted that before 2014, India had only a handful of startups, whereas today, over 2 lakh startups are actively operating in the country. Aligning with this vision, the Delhi Government has provided financial assistance of approximately ₹10 crore under the NEEEV programme this year.
Nearly 1.5 lakh students across about 1,000 Delhi Government schools worked on more than 30,000 innovative ideas, with around 30 teams from each school presenting their concepts. This process was not limited to idea presentation but was a vital journey of fostering creative thinking, bold imagination, and confidence.
Out of these, nearly 5,000 teams received financial assistance of ₹20,000 each, totaling around ₹10 crore invested directly in students’ ideas. The support is meant to instil confidence in students that their ideas are feasible and that the Government stands firmly with them.
The statement added that this programme, a unique initiative under the Chief Minister’s leadership, has engaged over 5 lakh students so far. Students have not only used artificial intelligence (AI) but also worked on developing AI-based prototypes. Discussions on AI have reached homes and dining tables, boosting students’ confidence. The next step involves scientific validation of these innovations, requiring collaboration with leading technical institutions’ laboratories to refine and strengthen the students’ ideas.
Ashish Sood described the students aged 17-18 as the ‘Amrit Generation’ who will lead India towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. He emphasized that the goal is not just to impart education but to ignite confidence and belief in every child.
The Education Minister also explained that the NEEEV programme, launched on September 18, 2025, is a major Delhi Government initiative institutionalising entrepreneurship education for students from grades 8 to 12 in government schools. The programme aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which stresses competency-based, multidisciplinary, and experiential learning. NEEEV aims to equip students with essential life skills, entrepreneurial abilities, and real-world experience.
The programme is being implemented through a well-structured and comprehensive ecosystem, including in-classroom courses for grades 8 to 12, NEEEV Dialogues (structured speaker interaction series), Startup Stormers (student innovation and entrepreneurship competitions), specialised skill-based workshops, industry and incubation cell visits, and innovation councils at school, zonal, and district levels.
This initiative reflects the Delhi Government’s commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship among young learners, preparing them to contribute effectively to India’s growth and development.
