Noida, May 20: Uttar Pradesh’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ has issued directives to swiftly resolve disputes between builders and buyers in Noida. He emphasized the need for immediate action against defaulting builders and ordered an investigation into single-bid allotments. Additionally, he called for the clearance of a five percent plot backlog within three months.
During a review meeting at the Pick-Up Bhawan auditorium, Minister Nandi stated that corruption, irregularities, and negligence in development projects would not be tolerated. He urged for extensive changes to make Noida a better, more organized, and world-class city, highlighting the resolution of builders and flat buyers’ issues as a government priority.
He instructed the full implementation of the Amitabh Kant committee’s recommendations, aiming to revive long-stalled projects and expedite the registration process for flat buyers. Officials reported that 57 projects fell under this policy, with 36 builders having deposited 25 percent of the required funds, while six builders had made no payments. Minister Nandi expressed concern that people’s hard-earned money has been stuck for years, forcing them to live in rented accommodations despite having purchased flats.
He directed strict action against several builders, including Sunshine Infra, Mahagun, Antariksh Developers, and Perfect Esotech. During the meeting, he raised questions about allotments made through single bids and requested a detailed report from the officials.
Minister Nandi also addressed serious complaints regarding the same firm being awarded water supply and toilet maintenance contracts for several years, ordering an investigation. If found guilty, the firm would be blacklisted.
Concerned about illegal encroachments and constructions in Noida, he insisted on holding responsible officials accountable. Strict action should be taken against officials upon receiving complaints about illegal encroachments.
He directed improvements in cleanliness across all 168 sectors of Noida, imposing heavy fines for negligence. Minister Nandi stated that Noida has become the “crown” of Uttar Pradesh, and it is essential to enhance its global identity by making the city clean, green, and beautiful.
He instructed officials to improve the condition of parks, undertake large-scale planting at entry points and along roads, and ensure greenery in industrial areas. He emphasized that the annual expenditure of ₹170 crores by the horticulture department should yield visible results on the ground. The minister also expressed dissatisfaction with the poor state of water supply and public toilets, reprimanding the concerned officials and ordering an investigation into all previously issued Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
