Strict Enforcement of Traffic Rules in Gautam Buddh Nagar: Over 22,000 Vehicles Penalized in Three Days

Noida, May 20: The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has launched a significant crackdown on traffic rule violators, resulting in actions against over 22,000 vehicles within just three days.

Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh and the supervision of Additional Police Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr. Rajiv Narayan Mishra, an extensive checking campaign was conducted from May 15 to May 17 across the district.

During this operation, a zero-tolerance policy was enforced against drivers using pressure horns, vehicles without number plates, faulty number plates, tinted windows, stunt driving, and speeding.

According to police officials, the primary goal of this initiative was to enhance road safety, regulate traffic discipline, and ensure safe transit for the public. To specifically address noise pollution, decibel meters were utilized, allowing for scientific assessment and action against pressure horns and illegal sound devices.

Additionally, special attention was given to dangerous activities such as speeding and stunt driving. In the Noida zone, inspections were conducted at 70 locations, where 12,882 vehicles were checked. This resulted in actions against 3,481 vehicles, including 80 for using pressure horns, 205 for lacking number plates or having faulty ones, 105 for tinted windows, three for stunt driving, and 121 for speeding. Four cases were registered, and 14 vehicles were seized.

In the Central Noida zone, inspections took place at 73 locations, checking 5,379 vehicles. Here, actions were taken against 1,617 vehicles, including 55 for using pressure horns, 156 for lacking number plates, 51 for tinted windows, 30 for stunt driving, and 170 for speeding. One case was registered, five vehicles were seized, and one abandoned vehicle was impounded.

In the Greater Noida zone, 91 locations were inspected, leading to actions against 1,414 vehicles, including 68 for using pressure horns, 204 for lacking number plates, 85 for tinted windows, 14 for stunt driving, and 259 for speeding.

Furthermore, traffic police conducted separate checks at 39 locations, inspecting 46,614 vehicles. During this time, actions were taken against 15,785 vehicles, including 463 for using pressure horns, 781 for lacking number plates, 511 for tinted windows, 31 for stunt driving, and 1,676 for speeding.

Overall, throughout the campaign, a total of 72,152 vehicles were checked across 273 locations. The police took action against 22,297 vehicles, registered five cases, seized 19 vehicles, and impounded one abandoned vehicle.
