NTA Takes Major Steps to Reform Examination System with Senior Appointments

New Delhi, May 20: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated significant measures to enhance the transparency, security, and robustness of the examination system. The agency has appointed four senior officials and has also begun the recruitment process for three key positions related to technology, finance, and human resources.

On Monday, the NTA announced that these actions are being taken based on recommendations from a high-level expert committee formed by the Government of India. The aim is to improve the credibility and operational framework of high-stakes examinations conducted nationwide. Each year, the NTA organizes various exams for over ten million candidates.

Recently, four senior officials have been appointed to the NTA by the Government of India. This includes two officials at the level of Joint Secretary and two at the level of Director. The Joint Secretary-level officials will be designated as Additional Directors General.

Additionally, the NTA has issued advertisements for three specialist positions: Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and General Manager-Human Resources (GM-HR). The CTO will be the agency’s senior-most technical officer, overseeing the entire digital infrastructure related to examinations, cybersecurity, question paper management, biometric and facial authentication, AI-based monitoring systems, and technological modernization.

The CFO will be responsible for the agency’s financial management, accounting, auditing, and fund management in accordance with government investment regulations. Meanwhile, the GM-HR will focus on staff recruitment, training, human resource policies, and strengthening the work culture within the NTA.

Applications for these three positions are invited within 15 days from the date of the advertisement on the NTA’s official website. The selection process will be conducted by a committee based on merit, experience, and capability.

The NTA has stated that the reform process will continue, and updates on further steps will be shared periodically. The Ministry of Education and the Department of Higher Education are overseeing this entire process.
