
Garhwa, May 20: A shocking incident unfolded in Garhwa district of Jharkhand when the body of a 17-year-old girl was discovered in a locked house in the village of Parati. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for autopsy, as suspicions of murder arise.
The deceased has been identified as Akriti Kumari, daughter of local resident Nirmal Singh Chero.
According to locals, the house had been locked for several days. On Tuesday, a foul smell emanated from inside, prompting villagers to investigate. They alerted the police at the Ketar station, who arrived on the scene and forced open the door. What they found inside left everyone stunned: the girl’s body lay in suspicious circumstances.
Witnesses suggested that the condition of the body indicated foul play. Villagers reported that Nirmal Singh Chero had returned home just two or three days prior and then mysteriously locked the house before disappearing. Many villagers allege that the father is responsible for his daughter’s death and fled to conceal evidence.
The shocking nature of this incident has created an atmosphere of fear in Parati village, with residents expressing outrage against the accused father. A large crowd of villagers gathered at the scene as news broke.
Ketar police station chief Arun Kumar Rawani stated that the case appears to be a murder at first glance. However, the exact cause of death will be determined once the autopsy report is available. The police are actively investigating the entire matter.
