LPG and Fuel Supply Remains Steady in Madhya Pradesh, Says Indian Oil

Bhopal, April 6: The supply of LPG gas and diesel fuel in Madhya Pradesh is consistent and sufficient, according to the Indian Oil Corporation. Ajay Kumar Srivastava, the Chief General Manager and State Head of Indian Oil Corporation Limited in Bhopal, stated that despite current global conditions, government oil companies (Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL) are ensuring a steady supply of LPG and petrol-diesel in the state. Domestic LPG supply is prioritized, and gas cylinder deliveries are proceeding normally.

Currently, around 220,000 LPG cylinders are being distributed daily in Madhya Pradesh, matching the usual figures. Srivastava mentioned that both domestic and commercial gas supplies are being managed according to established regulations. Smaller five-kilogram cylinders are also available for those with lower gas usage or without a local address, such as students and migrant workers.

Special camps are being set up in industrial areas like Mandideep, Pithampur, Govindpura, Malanpur, Dewas, and Singrauli to facilitate this. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 13 bottling plants (six by Indian Oil, three by BPCL, and four by HPCL), all of which have adequate stock. These plants supply consumers through 1,552 gas agencies across the state. Currently, about 95% of bookings are made online, and cylinders are delivered to the correct customers via OTP verification.

In response to reports of irregularities and black marketing, the companies have intensified their enforcement efforts. Special teams have been formed for inspections. So far, 2,485 raids have been conducted in Madhya Pradesh, resulting in 10 FIRs and the seizure of 3,561 cylinders.

Ajay Kumar Srivastava reassured the public that there is no shortage of LPG in the country. He advised against panic booking or stockpiling gas and urged people to ignore rumors. Regarding petrol and diesel, the state has a total of 7,147 petrol pumps, with 649 belonging to private companies. Adequate storage and supply systems are in place through four terminals and 13 depots. Currently, approximately 8,000 kiloliters of petrol and 16,000 kiloliters of diesel are supplied daily in Madhya Pradesh, which is sufficient to meet demand. All petrol pumps are stocked, ensuring no shortages, especially during the farming season.
