Major Fire Erupts at Omega Print Packs Factory in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, May 20: A massive fire broke out at the Omega Print Packs factory located in the BS Road industrial area of Ghaziabad on Wednesday, causing chaos in the vicinity. The blaze was so intense that smoke was visible from several kilometers away. Upon receiving the alert, multiple fire engines rushed to the scene and, after an hour of relentless efforts, managed to completely extinguish the fire.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in this incident. According to sources, the Ghaziabad Fire Station received information about the fire at the Omega Print Packs factory, E-77/2, in the BS Road industrial area. Immediately, a fire officer and several fire tenders were dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, the fire team observed that the flames had spread rapidly within the factory, engulfing the area in thick black smoke. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Chief Fire Officer of Ghaziabad arrived on-site to take charge of the rescue and relief operations.

Firefighters quickly deployed four hose pipes to combat the flames. The fire had reached deep inside the factory, making it challenging for the firefighters to control. They had to break through walls in several places to effectively manage the blaze.

As the fire’s intensity increased, additional fire engines were summoned from all fire stations in Ghaziabad. Units from neighboring districts Gautam Buddh Nagar and Hapur were also dispatched to assist. Approximately 12 fire engines and a large number of firefighters worked together to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby factories. Had the fire not been contained in time, other industrial units in the vicinity could have been affected.

After nearly an hour of continuous effort, the fire department successfully extinguished the flames. Currently, an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary estimates suggest that a short circuit or technical malfunction may have triggered the blaze. However, officials will confirm the cause once the investigation is complete.
