Kohima, May 20: Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Jitan Ram Manjhi, stressed the importance of effectively implementing MSME-related schemes during his two-day visit to Nagaland. He urged officials to work collectively for the welfare of the people and economic development.
On Wednesday, Manjhi held a review meeting with various department officials at the police complex in Chumoukedima, Longleng district.
During the meeting, he reviewed ongoing development activities in the district and discussed the status of various central government schemes and programs. Officials from different departments provided updates on current projects, achievements, challenges, and areas needing additional support.
The central team noted that this review is being conducted under the directives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to assess the ground realities and developmental needs of the district. They mentioned that all suggestions, feedback, and reports gathered during the visit would be compiled and sent to the Prime Minister’s Office and relevant central ministries.
A. Pongshi Foam, the chairman of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board and MLA from Longleng, welcomed the central delegation and praised the government’s welfare schemes and development programs. He stated that the meeting would positively impact people’s lives and strengthen development efforts in the district.
Foam commended the initiatives launched by the central government under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership to enhance infrastructure, economy, livelihoods, and welfare. He noted that inclusive development is now reaching remote areas, benefiting all sections of society.
He highlighted the significant improvements in people’s living standards due to central-sponsored schemes related to agriculture, health, education, rural development, solar energy, industry, electricity, social security, and welfare.
