Lucknow, May 20: Pankaj Chaudhary, the state president of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Minister of State for Finance, responded to recent statements by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav. He asserted that the public has completely understood the opposition’s “negative, confusion-spreading, and opportunistic politics.”
Chaudhary emphasized that parties that have long used the Constitution, social justice, and the economy as tools for dynastic and vote bank politics are now making unsuccessful attempts to mislead the public. He noted that the growing global respect for Prime Minister Narendra Modi is something Congress and the Samajwadi Party cannot accept.
He stated that India is now among the fastest-growing economies in the world, with major nations eager to enhance strategic, economic, and technological partnerships with India. Chaudhary described Modi’s foreign visits as beneficial for India’s interests, investments, employment, and global reputation. He criticized Rahul Gandhi’s comments on Modi’s amicable relations with Italian Prime Minister Meloni as indicative of an “immature and desperate mindset.”
Chaudhary pointed out that personal trust and friendship play significant roles in international diplomacy, yet Congress has consistently engaged in politics that undermines India’s global image. He dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claims of an economic crisis in the country as “ridiculous,” recalling that during Congress’s rule, India struggled with corruption, scams, and policy paralysis. In contrast, under Modi’s leadership, India is rapidly advancing towards becoming the world’s fourth-largest economy.
He highlighted record foreign investments, expressways, airports, defense corridors, Digital India, Startup India, and Make in India initiatives as factors making the country self-reliant. Additionally, millions benefit from free rations, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the Ujjwala scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the PM Housing Scheme.
Chaudhary accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to weaken democracy by making baseless allegations against democratic institutions, the Constitution, and constitutional positions. He remarked that the Congress party, which once crushed the spirit of the Constitution during the Emergency, is now invoking it, while the BJP government has strengthened the rights of the poor, Dalits, backward classes, tribals, and women.
Targeting the Samajwadi Party, Chaudhary stated that they have no moral right to speak on reservation and social justice. He alleged that corruption, casteism, and nepotism were rampant during the Samajwadi Party’s rule, jeopardizing the future of the youth. He asserted that the BJP government has implemented a transparent recruitment process, providing government jobs to millions without discrimination.
Chaudhary reiterated that the BJP operates on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” and is committed to implementing reservation as a constitutional right. He accused the Samajwadi Party of dividing society and spreading confusion in the name of reservation. Refuting the opposition’s claims regarding ‘lateral entry,’ he stated that reforms are periodically made to enhance administrative efficiency and expertise, while the opposition opposes every reform solely for political gain.
He concluded by stating that the rule of law has now been established in Uttar Pradesh, with strict actions against mafia and criminals. Bulldozers are being used against those encroaching on the land of the poor, causing distress among those who have thrived on crime and corruption for years. Chaudhary remarked that both Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav have become disconnected from the real issues of the public. While Prime Minister Modi is working towards a developed India, the opposition is engaged in politics of confusion, fear, and lies.
