Chennai, May 20: The Tamil Nadu government has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle, resulting in the transfer and new postings of several IPS officers effective immediately. This order was issued by Additional Chief Secretary K. Manivasan, which involves crucial changes in police administration roles.
Notably, G. Venkataraman, who was serving as the DGP (Administration) in Chennai, has been appointed as the new DGP of the Civil Supplies CID. K. Bhavanishwari, previously the IGP Headquarters, has been assigned as the IGP of the Singappan Special Force, a newly established and significant unit.
Avinash Kumar, Inspector General of Police (on mandatory wait), has been appointed as the Inspector General of Police General at the DGP office, replacing Praveen Kumar Abhinapu. Similarly, A. Saravana Sundar has been designated as the IGP for North Zone Chennai.
J. Mahesh, who was serving as DIG, has been promoted to IGP Crime in Chennai. Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, previously the DIG/Joint Commissioner of Traffic (South), is now the DIG for the Vellore Range.
Abhishek Gupta, Superintendent of Police for Pudukkottai District, has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General/Joint Police Commissioner for Law and Order in the Southern Region of Greater Chennai Police. S. Brinda, Superintendent of Police/Commandant of the Tamil Nadu Special Police Regimental Centre in Avadi, has been assigned as the Superintendent of Police for Thoothukudi District, while I. Shahnaz has been entrusted with the responsibilities of Kallakurichi District.
S. Arvind, Superintendent of Police for Kallakurichi District, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Kanchipuram District, replacing G. Jawahar. Allatipalli Pavan Kumar Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) at Tambaram Police Commissionerate, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police for Coimbatore District, taking over from Dr. K. Karthikeyan.
Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Superintendent of Police for Coimbatore District, has been reassigned as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) at Tambaram Police Commissionerate, replacing Allatipalli Pavan Kumar Reddy.
V. Satish Kumar, Assistant Superintendent of Police for Tiruvannamalai Urban Sub-Division, has been promoted to Superintendent of Police and assigned to Tiruvallur District.
Ravindra Kumar Gupta, Assistant Superintendent of Police for Viluppuram Sub-Division, has also been promoted to Superintendent of Police and will take over from Abhishek Gupta in Pudukkottai District.
