Lucknow, May 20: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal conducted a weekly review meeting via video conferencing with all divisional commissioners and district magistrates. The meeting focused on assessing the progress of various departments and issuing critical directives to officials.
Goyal emphasized the need for the swift resolution of pending stamp cases, the complete registration of farmers, and accelerating efforts under the ‘Gyan Bharat Mission’ for the preservation of rare manuscripts. During the review of the Stamp and Registration Department, he instructed that entries related to khasra valuation near roads and populated areas, which are pending on the Prerna portal, should be uploaded promptly.
He expressed dissatisfaction over the prolonged review of valuation lists in Varanasi, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Gorakhpur, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Rampur, Mau, and Pilibhit, directing immediate action for their revision. Goyal urged district magistrates, additional district magistrates (Finance and Revenue), and AIG courts to expedite the resolution of pending stamp cases to avoid unnecessary delays in revenue-related matters.
The meeting also addressed the issue of land allocation for sub-registrar offices. The Chief Secretary instructed district magistrates in Agra, Firozabad, Rampur, Kanpur Nagar, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Unnao, Basti, Banda, Bijnor, Maharajganj, Moradabad, Meerut, Mainpuri, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Mathura to identify suitable land for prompt allocation in pending cases.
He highlighted that the Government of India is running a comprehensive campaign under the ‘Gyan Bharat Mission’ to preserve the country’s cultural and intellectual heritage. This initiative involves scanning rare manuscripts available in government and non-government institutions, monasteries, temples, educational institutions, private and public libraries, and individuals, ensuring their digital preservation on a dedicated portal.
Goyal also reviewed the farmer registration process, directing district magistrates to conduct campaigns for the timely completion of 100% registration of all farmers.
