Jammu, March 8: On Sunday, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, met with youth from Ladakh in Jammu. These young individuals are participating in the All India Students’ Council (ABVP) initiative called the Students’ Experience in Regional Understanding – National Integration Yatra 2026. The event took place at Lok Bhawan.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor welcomed the youth and encouraged them to learn from diverse cultures and experiences, emphasizing their potential to contribute positively to society. He stated that programs like SERU play a crucial role in strengthening national unity and mutual understanding among the youth from different parts of the country. The participants also shared their experiences and insights gained during the SERU program.
This national integration journey includes 30 students from various regions of Ladakh, such as Nubra, Kargil, Leh, Lamayuru, Shyang, Nyoma, and Zanskar. The tour is organized in collaboration with the ABVP, the Vidyarthi Seva Educational Trust, and SEIL.
Throughout this journey, students are provided with opportunities to gain educational and cultural experiences in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.
Additionally, on Sunday, Sinha remarked that Jammu and Kashmir is no longer satisfied with being average or ordinary; it is now daring to dream big. He inaugurated the headquarters of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the Sidhra area of Jammu.
During the inauguration ceremony, he stated, “Jammu and Kashmir is no longer content with an average or ordinary status; we are moving towards dreaming big.” He highlighted the significant changes in the region over the past few years, which have led to a more transparent system.
Following the inauguration, LG Sinha posted on the social media platform X, stating that these buildings are not merely structures of steel, glass, and concrete; they symbolize a strong commitment to transparency in public life and a corruption-free Union Territory. He noted that transformative steps have been taken over the last 5-6 years to make the system more transparent and dedicated to serving the public.
He emphasized that the entire system is now working for the benefit of every citizen in the Union Territory, rather than for the advantage of a select few. Jammu and Kashmir is now setting ambitious goals instead of settling for mediocrity.
