Announcement of The Last Question Release in Bengal After Political Shift

Kolkata, May 14: The formal announcement for the release of the Hindi film ‘The Last Question,’ directed by Abhijit Mohan Warang, has been made in West Bengal. During a press conference, the film’s trailer was showcased to the media and audience. The event sparked discussions about the changed political landscape in Bengal and the film’s sensitive subject matter.

The film’s narrative centers around the demolition of the Babri Mosque, the role of the RSS, and the associated political-historical discourse. Sanjay Dutt will play a significant role in the film, although he was not present at the press conference. BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty attended the event, where his son Namashi Chakraborty will also have a key role. Actress Sameera Reddy is also part of the film.

In an interview, director Abhijit Mohan Warang shared that Mithun and Namashi Chakraborty will appear together on the big screen for the first time. The script for the new film is ready, and they were waiting for Mithun’s availability after the elections. The audience and supporters responded positively to the trailer, which has excited the team.

The press conference highlighted that the trailer launch was previously blocked during the last government. It was mentioned that films like ‘The Bengal Files’ were not allowed to release in Bengal, but now, following the political shift, ‘The Last Question’ is set to hit the screens.

Mithun Chakraborty stated that not only ‘The Last Question’ but also ‘The Bengal Files’ will be released in Bengal. He described the film as ‘the truth’ that the country needs to know.

Mithun expressed optimism about realizing the dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’ and leading the state towards a new path of development. He criticized former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming that Bengal’s politics had been polarized and based on a Muslim vote bank for years. He asserted that the BJP has demonstrated that a government can be formed in Bengal without Muslim votes.

In response to a question regarding post-election violence linked to Mamata Banerjee, Mithun remarked, “The public has made their decision; their questions now hold no weight.”

Meanwhile, Namashi Chakraborty shared insights about his character and experiences during the film. Sameera Reddy referred to Kolkata as ‘the cultural capital of India’ and expressed her respect for the Bengali film industry.
