India A Team Announced for Tri-Series in Sri Lanka, Tilak Verma to Lead

Mumbai, May 14: The men’s selection committee has announced the India ‘A’ team for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka. Tilak Verma will captain the 15-member squad, which includes 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has been given a significant opportunity. The series will feature matches between Sri Lanka ‘A’, India ‘A’, and Afghanistan ‘A’ from June 9 to June 21.

Riyan Parag, captain of the Rajasthan Royals in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), has been appointed as the vice-captain for this tri-series. The team also includes promising players like Priyansh Arya, Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey, Vipraj Nigam, Suryansh Shedge, Yudhveer Singh, and Anshul Kamboj.

Following the limited-overs tri-series, India ‘A’ will play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka ‘A’. The announcement for this team will be made later. The white-ball series will take place in Dambulla, while the multi-day matches will be held in Galle.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been rewarded for his outstanding performance in IPL 2026. He scored 252 runs at an average of 36 in seven matches last season and has made 440 runs at an average of 40 in 11 matches this season, including one century and two half-centuries.

The Indian team will face Sri Lanka ‘A’ on June 9, followed by a match against Afghanistan ‘A’ on June 11. They will meet Sri Lanka again on June 15 and Afghanistan once more on June 17. The final match is scheduled for June 21.
