Mumbai, May 14: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched a search operation at seven locations in Mumbai, Gurugram, and Bengaluru, related to a case involving the Reliance ADA Group. This action is part of an investigation against Reliance Communications.
According to reports, the CBI conducted these searches on Thursday based on a warrant issued by a special court in Mumbai. The raids targeted the residences of former senior officials who worked at the company between 2015 and 2017.
Among those involved are the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other director-level officials. During the searches, several important documents were seized, and the agency is continuing its investigation.
Sources indicate that this case is linked to complaints filed by various public sector banks and the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Based on these complaints, the CBI has registered a total of seven separate cases against the Reliance ADA Group in recent months. Allegations include financial irregularities and scams amounting to an estimated loss of approximately ₹27,337 crore.
The investigative agency has previously conducted searches at multiple locations related to this case. In recent months, the CBI has raided around 31 sites, collecting numerous documents and digital evidence. Additionally, two senior officials were arrested on April 20 in connection with this case. The arrested individuals, D. Vishwanath and Anil Kalia, were responsible for banking and financial transactions. Both are currently in judicial custody.
It has also been reported that the cases linked to the Reliance Group, led by Anil Ambani, are under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Investigative agencies are thoroughly examining financial transactions, banking processes, and the company’s financial decisions in this matter.
