New Delhi, May 14: Leaders have reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal amidst the ongoing crisis in the Middle East. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated in an interview that PM Modi has made it clear that society and government must work together with patience to address this crisis. He criticized the opposition for creating panic, emphasizing that not only India but the entire world is facing this challenge.
Naqvi urged everyone to be part of the solution with calmness and sensitivity. He remarked that this is a time of crisis, even for countries that once considered themselves economic powers.
Regarding the hijab controversy in Karnataka, Naqvi mentioned that India is a nation of unity in diversity. He noted that the hijab has never been mandatory in India, and while some wear a veil, others use the hijab. He believes there is no need for government restrictions or concessions on this matter.
Danish Azad Ansari, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, commented on PM Modi’s appeal, stating that the Prime Minister is continuously working for the country’s development. He highlighted that both PM Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have reduced the number of vehicles in their convoys to demonstrate that everyone should contribute equally to the nation’s development.
Ansari noted that PM Modi traveled with two vehicles on Wednesday, while CM Yogi cut down his convoy by 50%. He affirmed that the entire nation stands united in response to PM Modi’s call, with Uttar Pradesh striving to play a meaningful role in the country’s development.
Former RJD MP Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi remarked that similar situations have occurred before, but they were not handled in this manner. He suggested that if custom duties had been increased earlier, the current pressure could have been avoided, preventing an emergency-like situation.
In response to PM Modi’s appeal, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLC Ambadas Danve criticized the Chief Minister’s bulletproof vehicle usage as theatrics. He insisted that a genuine solution should be sought, stating that one instance of using a bulletproof vehicle will not resolve the issue.
NCP MLC Zeeshan Siddiqui emphasized that everyone should heed the Prime Minister’s appeal to conserve fuel. He encouraged all to follow PM Modi’s guidance, noting that prominent leaders are already doing so.
Uttarakhand BJP President Mahendra Bhatt supported PM Modi’s call for fuel and energy conservation as being in the nation’s interest. He mentioned that party workers and the public are being encouraged to minimize unnecessary fuel consumption for economic resilience and self-reliance. He added that the Chief Minister has issued directives, and they have urged party workers to save diesel as much as possible, reiterating the importance of adhering to PM Modi’s advice.
Central Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy stated that it is now essential to heed PM Modi’s appeal to save fuel and avoid unnecessary gold purchases. He noted that not only has the Prime Minister spoken on this matter, but the Prime Minister of Singapore also addressed his citizens recently. Kumaraswamy warned that challenging days lie ahead, and preparation is crucial. He urged citizens to cooperate with the government, while expressing concern that the opposition has taken the Prime Minister’s appeal lightly.
