Chhattisgarh CM Discusses Development Initiatives with Amit Shah in New Delhi

New Delhi, May 14: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday in New Delhi. The meeting focused on the rapidly changing conditions and development projects in Bastar. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma was also present during the discussions.

The agenda included the ongoing “Chief Minister Healthy Bastar Campaign” and the health services reaching the Naxal-affected areas. CM Vishnu Dev Sai informed Amit Shah that regions once deemed inaccessible for ambulances now regularly receive doctors, medicines, and health teams.

Health checks are being conducted by walking into remote villages, allowing for timely identification of serious illnesses and provision of free treatment. In just one month, over 2.1 million health checks have been completed, and digital health profiles have been created for the residents. Thousands of patients have received timely treatment and referrals to advanced hospitals.

In Bastar, old security camps are evolving beyond mere safety measures. They are gradually being transformed into “Public Convenience Centers,” providing essential services such as health care, education, banking, and information on government schemes all in one location. These centers are making basic services accessible for the first time to people living in remote and Naxal-affected areas. Villagers no longer need to travel long distances for treatment, bank accounts, documentation, or information on government programs.

The Chief Minister Healthy Bastar Campaign, launched on April 13, 2026, aims to reach 3.6 million people. Additionally, the Bastar Munne (Leading Bastar) initiative is rapidly working to ensure that the benefits of 31 key schemes reach the last person in the community. A new super specialty hospital has opened in Jagdalpur, eliminating the need for residents to travel to Raipur or Bilaspur for expensive treatments. The expansion of the Dial-112 Next Gen service and the transformation of old security camps into Public Convenience Centers are crucial steps toward sustainable development in Bastar.

CM Vishnu Dev Sai highlighted that areas once cut off from the mainstream due to Naxal influence are now benefiting from government schemes. A recent example of this change is the successful transportation of a critically ill patient from a remote village in Sukma to a hospital hundreds of kilometers away for treatment.

The Chief Minister also shared a development roadmap for Bastar with Home Minister Amit Shah, focusing on roads, education, employment, skill development, and investment promotion. He emphasized that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Bastar is witnessing rapid positive changes. Amit Shah praised the ongoing development projects and the expansion of health services in Bastar, assuring that both the central and state governments are committed to ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last individual.

It is noteworthy that Amit Shah is expected to visit Bastar on May 18 and 19.
