Fetal Girl Found in Alwar Sparks Outrage

Alwar, Rajasthan – A disturbing case of female foeticide has come to light in Alwar district. On Sunday, police recovered the foetus of an eight-month-old girl wrapped in a plastic bundle, triggering widespread anger among locals and raising questions about social awareness and police response.

The bundle, wrapped in a salwar and polythene, was found in the bushes between Baroli and Nyana villages in the Govindgarh area. It was reportedly spotted on Thursday but was initially ignored by villagers who assumed it was garbage.

When the bundle was opened on Sunday morning, villagers discovered the foetus inside. They informed the police the same morning, but residents claimed the police arrived only after about one and a half hours, by which time a large crowd had gathered at the site.

Villagers alleged that the police cited staff shortages at the station for the delay, which further fueled local frustration and anger.

Before the police arrived, the villagers took responsibility for protecting the foetus from stray animals. They reportedly created a protective circle around it to prevent dogs and other animals from approaching.

The villagers also accused a police officer of making an insensitive remark, allegedly telling them to arrange a helicopter for the police to come quickly. This statement reportedly increased the anger among the locals.

After arriving, the police took possession of the foetus and sent it to the Govindgarh Community Health Centre. As part of the investigation, they also seized the salwar and other items wrapped around the foetus.

Officials noted that a tailoring shop tag found on the salwar could be a key clue to identify those responsible for this crime.

Investigators are currently examining the evidence to trace the source of the clothing and uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The police have assured that a thorough investigation is underway and efforts are being made to identify and take appropriate legal action against those involved.
