Nanning, May 19: The 2026 China Internet Civilization Conference took place on Tuesday in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Li Shulei, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and head of the Propaganda Department, delivered a keynote speech at the event.
Attendees expressed their belief that under the strong leadership of the CPC’s Central Committee, centered around Xi Jinping since the 18th National Congress, China has successfully adopted a unique internet governance model. This marks a significant step toward building a robust internet nation.
Xi Jinping has made a series of important statements regarding the construction of internet civilization, providing fundamental guidelines for creating a beautiful online spiritual home.
Participants noted that a comprehensive plan for internet civilization development has been outlined in the 15th Five-Year Plan. They emphasized the need to continuously enrich the supply of excellent online content, improve long-term governance of the internet ecosystem, and promote the integration of online and offline civilizations.
