Jaipur, August 12 (Kiran News). The Rajasthan CID Intelligence has arrested a contractual manager of the DRDO Guest House at Chandan Field Firing Range, Jaisalmer, on charges of espionage.

Inspector General of Police, CID (Security), Dr. Vishnukant, said that ahead of the upcoming state-level Independence Day celebrations, CID Intelligence has been keeping a close watch on possible anti-national and destructive activities by foreign agents in the state. During surveillance, it was found that Mahendra Prasad, a resident of Palyu, Almora (Uttarakhand), working as a contractual manager at the DRDO Guest House, was in contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency through social media.
He was allegedly passing on confidential information regarding the arrival and movement of DRDO scientists and Indian Army officers at the Chandan Field Firing Range, where missile and other weapon tests are conducted.
Mahendra Prasad was brought to the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur, where multiple intelligence agencies jointly questioned him and conducted a technical examination of his mobile phone. The investigation confirmed that he had shared sensitive information related to DRDO and the Indian Army with a Pakistani handler.
Following this, a case was registered against him under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and he was arrested by Rajasthan CID Intelligence on charges of espionage.
